CLASSIC DECO CHRISTMAS

The Story

Stars, screens and bold geometric patterns are at the heart of this Christmas theme. We wanted to create a clean and subtle reference to Art Deco; a design era where an important part of Georg Jensen’s heritage lies.

The Design Process

The Christmas trees were created out of simple, outlines and dressed in a sheet of stars. Each tree was cut from mdf, with a magnetic core. The stars were created using an ‘Acid Edging’ technique, where the unwanted metal is melted away to form a delicate and highly intricate mesh. The metallic mesh could then be fixed onto the magnetic surface of the tree.

The screen effect was achieved in the same way and individual golden stars were also produced to spread the theme onto the base of the display. The products were displayed on high-gloss display blocks, with a high-gloss and chromed base.

Gift Ribbon

Gift ribbon in classic Christmas reds and greens was also produced, which carried the geometric star theme all the way through to the buying experience.

Window Foil

Window foil design suggestions were also created, to bind the theme together and to achieve an eye catching visual statement for the high street.
