Jordan Askill

The Design Process

Jordan’s design aesthetic is inspired by nature and his past collections have explored the 3D nature of the animal form. This campaign brings the story of an endangered butterfly to life and explores new 3D printing methods, based on Jordan’s signature 3D modelling process, to model and create a 3D visual from a flat surface.

We wanted to describe the intensity and beauty of this migration, as the butterflies swarm over the west coast American landscape. The stages of the design process are indicated below.

The Production Process

The displays were produced from laser cut acrylic and the visuals were built up gradually in collage layers, to produce this life-like, 3 dimensional effect. Additional plates of polished acrylic were integrated into the jewellery display tools, to maximize the mirror effect and to project the theme onto the display.
